Everything you need to know about configuring your DualSense Edge directly from your browser — no PS5, no drivers, no delay.
Edge Config is a free browser-based configurator for the Sony DualSense Edge controller. It talks directly to the controller over USB using the WebHID API — a modern browser standard that lets web pages communicate with USB HID devices. No software installation, no drivers, no PS5 required.
Profiles are written directly into the controller's onboard memory — the same slots you switch between with FN + △/○/✕/□. Once saved, your settings work on any device you plug into, including your PS5.
WebHID is only supported in Chromium-based browsers. Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Firefox and Safari do not support WebHID.
Plug the DualSense Edge into your computer with a USB-C cable. Bluetooth is not supported — the profile feature reports are only accessible over USB HID, so a wired connection is required.
Hit the Connect button in the top-right. Chrome will show a device picker — select your DualSense Edge and click Connect. Your 4 controller slots will load automatically.
For a native app feel, install Edge Config as a Progressive Web App. In Chrome, click the install icon (⊕) in the address bar, or go to Settings → More Tools → Create Shortcut → Open as window. It launches in its own window with no browser chrome — feels just like a native app.
On macOS, there's no official Sony software and driver-based tools don't run at all. Edge Config works natively in Chrome on Mac with zero setup — just plug in and go.
Because profiles are stored on the controller itself, any settings you configure on your Mac will work when you connect the same controller to a Windows PC or PS5. Your profiles live in the hardware, not on your computer.
Driver-based tools work by sitting in between your controller and your game — they intercept HID input, process it, and re-emit it as a virtual Xbox controller. This pipeline adds input latency and can cause compatibility issues with games that do their own controller detection.
Your DualSense Edge has 4 hardware slots — the profiles you switch between with FN + △/○/✕/□ on the controller. These live in the controller's memory.
The Profile Library is separate — it's an unlimited collection of profiles saved in your browser. Think of it as a bench: build and store as many as you want, then assign any of them to a controller slot whenever you need.
Save Locally stores your changes to the browser library only. The controller is not touched. Use this when you want to keep working on a profile or save it for later.
Sync to Controller writes the profile directly into the controller's hardware slot over USB. This is what actually changes how it feels in-game. The profile will work on any device you plug into — including your PS5.
At the bottom of the sidebar, Export downloads your entire profile library as a .json file — great for backups or sharing setups with friends. Import merges a library file into your existing one, so you won't lose anything you already have.
Remap any of the 16 buttons including the back paddles. Live input highlights which button is being pressed in real time.
6 built-in presets (Default, Quick, Precise, Steady, Digital, Dynamic) plus an intensity slider from −5 to +5 and a per-stick deadzone.
Drag 3 control points on a canvas to build a fully custom stick response curve from scratch — per stick, per profile.
Set a per-stick deadzone independently of the sensitivity curve. The curve is preserved when you adjust the deadzone.
Set the start and end range for L2 and R2. A live fill bar shows exactly where your trigger sits as you hold it.
One-click presets optimised for specific games. Applies stick curves, trigger deadzones, and button layouts in a single shot — no manual tuning required.
Built-in stick drift diagnostic. Samples both sticks for 3 seconds while you hold still, then flags any stick that never returns to centre and suggests the exact deadzone to fix it.
Save as many profiles as you want to your browser. None of them need to be assigned to a slot — use the library as a collection to draw from.
Manage all four FN+button slots (△/○/✕/□). Assign any saved profile to any slot with one click, directly over USB.
Export your entire profile library as a JSON file to back it up or share it. Import a library file to merge profiles from another device.
While connected, see every button press highlighted in real time on the button assignment screen — great for verifying remaps.
Everything is stored locally in your browser or on the controller itself. Nothing is sent to any server.
